The Blue Jays Have a Strong Start and Toronto Gets Set to Host Canadian Music Week

There’s a lot going on in the Toronto area in the coming weeks. For sports fans, the hometown Blue Jays are having a promising opening season and music enthusiasts have Canadian Music Week to look forward to.

The Toronto Blue Jays are off to a solid start so far this season, particularly in comparison to where they were last April. At this point they’re at 9-4 and their offence is looking strong. Games against the Cleveland Indians have been called off due to rain two times in a row now, and delay may just benefit the Jays in the end as several injured players could be back in the lineup by the time the match-up happens. As always, tickets for games can be purchased ahead of time or at the gate.

As far as the music scene goes, Canada has its own style, its own vibe and its own sound. Nothing puts this uniqueness on full display better than Canadian Music Week, now in its 26th year. This year, music week runs from May 7th to May 13th and, as always, will feature a lively lineup of music industry conferences and world class musical acts.

No matter your musical inclinations, you’ll find something to suit your tastes here. Music week features artists from around the world and covers a wide range of genres. Festival goers have a chance to check out both veteran and emerging artists. This year 1000 bands will play at more than 60 venues across the city. It’s the ultimate chance to immerse yourself in music.

Just a few of the artists set to perform are: Sloan, 2 Chainz, The Used, Slow, CupcakKe, Iskwé, Loma, Modern Space, Sango, and Keys N Krates. The festival is expected to draw around 160,000 music enthusiasts and will have artists from 35 countries. For the full list of shows you can check out the Music Week schedule.

Of course, for those who want to delve deeper into the musical industry, there is a whole host of summits and informational sessions. The conference schedule lists all of these events so that you can properly plan your full musical experience. There are a variety of ways to get involved in Canadian Music Week and tickets and wristbands are now available.
